There are two way to get from Sao Paolo to Rio de Janeiro: one of the is the quick motorway that connects directly the two cities. The other one is going through the coast. It takes much more time, the road is not in good conditions and... the places you may happen to visit are so extraordinary that you may never arrive in Rio.
I stopped by in Santos (MAP) just by chance: I happened to lose the bus connection and was forced to stay there a night.
Indeed the next day, before going back to the bus station, I had some time to get to know the local beach. It's 8:00 in the morning and the beach seems to be the most preferred path for local people to have a walk, run, perform some excercise and even play a real footbal game: 22 players, real goals, flags on the corners and... even a referee.
Praia da Lagoinha (MAP) close to Ubatuba, is just another awesome place to fall in love with. There are so many paths and beaches and activities one can do here, you'll never get enough.
As usual, sometimes it gets tough to reach a beach. Trekking may be hard and the jungle is so humid...Yet when you simply see it from the distance the strength comes back to you and you are eager to lay down on such a beautiful place
As it starts to be perfectly clear to me, Brazilian coast seems to be just a series of terrific beaches, one after the other, all "same same but different". It's kind of a customized paradise: everyone can find its own piece of sand.
Time to walk back home, it's been a long, peaceful and beautiful day.
